Apple Cinnamon Blondies

Serves 16 bars | 

The classic dessert with an Autumn twist.



Ingredients:

1 apple, diced into small pieces
1 cup light brown sugar, plus 2 tablespoons
1 cup flour
1/2 cup cinnamon chips
1/2 cup unsalted butter, plus 1 tablespoon
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1 egg

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F. Line a medium baking pan with aluminum foil and grease foil with cooking spray.
  2. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet. Once melted, add 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and apples. Stir until apples are coated. Let simmer for 5 minutes. Set aside.
  3. Melted remaining butter, pour into a mixing bowl. Add remaining brown sugar and whisk together. Add vanilla extract and egg to mix and whisk together. Add flour and salt to mix, stir until combined. Fold in cinnamon chips and apples.
  4. Pour batter into baking pan. Smooth top with a knife. Bake for 30-40 minutes.
  5. Remove from oven and allow blondies to cool for 2 hours before cutting and serving.
